Ken Dayley
Co-Owner, Faux in Style™ (and Former Major League Baseball World Champion)
Ken's roots are in the pacific northwest, where he attended the University of Portland on
a baseball scholarship. He was drafted into professional baseball in June of 1980
by the Atlanta Braves. Ken's major league career lasted 10+ seasons, consisting of 2
years with the Atlanta Braves, 6 with the St. Louis Cardinals, and 3 with the Toronto
Blue Jays, as well as 5 trips to the league playoffs, 4 World Series, and 2 World
Championships.
Ken married Jill Pilakowski on November 22, 1980. ("The best thing I ever did," he
says.) The couple has five great kids: Sara 23, Ashley 22, Kenny 19, Brooke 17, and
Morgan 14. As for his induction into the world of decorative finishing, Ken has this to
say, "My wife had been faux painting for about four years. After seeing her
transform basic pieces of furniture and walls into works of art, I developed my own
interest in decorative finishes. Together we have taken multiple classes with Kelly
at The Faux Finish Institute. Since then, we have launched a business in St. Louis,
Missouri called "Faux in Style."
